A quick fire post to learn everything there is to know about me!
Hi, welcome to the blog! This is my very first post so bear with me, “it’s only my third day out here.” (iykyk 😂!) I thought it would be a bit odd to jump into this thing without introducing myself first, so without further ado..
My name’s Mickaela! I’m 23 years-old, born in Toronto, Ontario but I have lived the majority of my life in a town just outside of the city. My birthday is October 9th, which fortunately (or unfortunately depending on which way you look at it) makes me a Libra. As you'll come to realize, I am Libra AF, indecisive, charming, non-confrontational but fun, always fun. 😉
I love beautiful things, sparkly things, things that match and go together. I like pearls, rhinestones, feathers, sequin and all the fancy things.
My favourite colour is purple. It's beautiful in all shades, but my absolute favourite is Royal Purple - deep, rich and luxurious!
I love sweets but not candy, I prefer fluffy cakes, rich brownies and flaky pastries.
Coffee is what gets me up in the morning, always with a creamer and always alone. I rarely have coffee with breakfast. I do like tea though! Piping hot and spicy. Chias, lemon gingers and nutmegs, YUM!
I graduated from the University Of Guelph where I majored in Marketing Management and minored in Psychology. I spent a lot of my fourth year travelling. I was given an amazing opportunity to study abroad in Austria and in England and I had the time of my life there. I’ll be sure to tell you more about my travels in some upcoming posts!
I also recently completed a postgraduate diploma at George Brown College, where I studied Sport and Event Marketing. I completed the entire program online and at home because of the COVID-19 pandemic., which was an interesting challenge!
Like I mentioned in my About Me bio, at the moment I am a digital marketing and event coordinator. I work for a small tech company in Toronto and honestly, I love my job! I help manage their social media platforms, edit YouTube videos and brainstorm ideas for their upcoming events, so fun!
When I’m not working, you can find me spending far too much time watching YouTube videos, reading and going on walks. I recently started to learn how to crochet, which has been fun! I’m hoping to make a sweater or something by the time fall comes around.
I’m obsessed with cheerleading and gymnastics! It doesn't matter what kind of gymnastics either, rhythmic, artistic, power tumbling, acrobatic - you name it, I'm into! I spend a lot of my free time keeping up with my favourite cheer teams and analyzing routines. I take it seriously and I love it!
For as long as I can remember, it has been my goal to learn how to tumble, and I’m hoping to get into some gymnastics classes as soon as next week, so stay tuned for that! My goal is to join a cheer team next season, I’ll be sure to keep you updated on that.
In real life, I’m described by many as a shy and quiet person, which is actually not entirely true, I'm actually pretty social and can talk for hours once the conversation gets going.
I think that’s been part of my motivation to create this blog. I feel that our society has a huge misconception of “quiet” people. We often view them as being "boring" or that they don’t have much to say, which is so false.
I hope throughout the course of this blog you’ll get to know me and my voice a little bit better. Maybe you’ll see that I’m not as "dull" as you might think. In fact, I’m actually pretty hilarious if I do say so myself! 😉
